The Great One’s Tarot

This is a rather symbolic story, the main intention as far as I can see it (remember this story was written intuitively, with no planning), is the completion of being. Whether this being refers to the collective or the individual I am not sure. The characteristics of the symbolic progression can be applied to both.

It is basically a story where a society, vaguely defined, so that it can serve as a universal symbol seeks to assure certainty thereby inviting the forces of chaos to reorder to a more intimate all inclusive realm. The result is an all knowing fool that perturbs the order so carefully constructed by the authorities.

The story is crafted with the meanings of the Tarot strategically directing the flow of the story. The emphasis is an exploratory philosophical mystical one where every occurrence holds meaning both at a general and defined realm. Just about every issue in human affairs is dealt with indirectly and or symbolically. My writing style is very suggestive; it doesn’t mean to define but rather induce flow of what is in the crevices of the unconscious so that it may become loose and be dealt with.

As I have already declared the issues can be interpreted personally, regarding the persona or socially regarding the collective. So, with all the issues being dealt with who knows who’s unconscious will uncover what. My meaning being that my suggestive writing will bring issues to bear. As to what those issues entail, well then, I am just the finger pointing. The substance lies elsewhere.
But if you are brave, good at dealing with sensitive issues; then this story may be for you. Sometimes it is good to bring things to light, who knows what long time unconscious issue could be resolved lightening the spirit and providing space for the soul to roam.

The mystics were all in an uproar; it seems that the meanings of the Great One’s Tarot have gotten out into the public. The poor mystics where confronted by the public armed with the meanings the Great One had given to the Tarot. They had no defence as it was knowledge beyond their experience. The public with an understanding that was not as organized as that of the mystics were running rampant thinking that they had found God.
They took the town fool propped him up on a throne and carried him around the town square chanting “The fool knows all and feels all as he is everywhere and nowhere at once, we have the fool now you will listen to us.”
They would demand of the mystic class, the learned ones, obedience, this could not be. The mystics organized as they were, held council and elected a member to go seek council with the Great One and find what one could find amidst such confusing times. The chosen one was not yet an elder but no early novice either, he was chosen for his strength of mind having some experience to guide him, but not yet so much as it would cause him to lose his hunger for experience. He was a bearded one which meant he accepted the totality of himself including both that which is harsh as well as that which is soft.
Generally well liked by both the people and his fellow mystics, he had managed charm and intellect with success. If anyone was to get anything from the Great One, it would be one who has acted in harmony with their surroundings and that could be weighed true by how well liked Eladriel was by all he dealt with.
Of course, he would have to face the Great One and here the only advice was to expect the unexpected. The mind of the Great One is in all things more than anyone else’s and could come to you from places where you never expected to find places. That the Great One practiced Tarot was news to Eladriel, but he suspected that the higher echelon of the mystic council probably knew. They had secrets within secrets in all their affairs, yet they told everyone what to do. There was no higher authority in society than the higher echelon of the mystic council. They always seem to have a problem bigger than any dream one could come up with, they smothered dream after dream condemning everyone to an existence of inward scrutinizing where the emphasis was always on problems. Joy was something to be questioned and dissected; to feel it was sin. Meaning was to be handed down from the HEM (higher echelon mystics) to the mystics, the mystics were to propagate this meaning to the people.
Eladriel was a mystic who did express joy, this the reason everybody liked him. He was like the only light with meaning from the heart that shone in society. Where he got this was not known, not even Eladriel knew how he did, that it was tolerated by the HEM was in part due to that Eladriel followed all the HEM mandates perfectly, was intensely hard on himself and still managed this authentic joy. He was an enigma to the HEM and because he was obedient in all other aspects they let this joy without explanation exist.
But the HEM did want to prepare Eladriel for his visit to the Great One; they had certain issues they wanted stressed. They wanted assurances that the Great One would not meddle in the affairs of the people. As to how to figure a way out of the current state of affairs where the people had lost respect for authority, the Hem was to meet in secret to decide how to proceed.
Eladriel was taken aback, how was he to get assurances from the Great One, was such a thing possible? The Great One is in tune with more than anyone else, how could anyone tell the Great One what to do? Yet that was exactly what the HEM wanted Eladriel to do. Eladriel knew better than to go against the HEM, he would have to make the attempt with the Great One. How that would go nobody could foretell.
